THE GROWING COMMUNITY TOOLKIT

About the Growing Community Toolkit – a free resource for community groups and people volunteering outdoors and in green spaces in East Sussex

What’s the Growing Community Toolkit and how can it help me?

Our aim is to provide all the tools, information and inspiration you need as a volunteer or community group in East Sussex. From how to set up your group and whether you need insurance through to when to sow carrots and mental health resilience, we hope you’ll find something here. We’re running a series of live workshops throughout autumn, winter and spring of 2024/5 and you’ll find details on the News and Events page.

Who’s the Toolkit for, and who’s involved?

The Toolkit has been created by – and for – volunteer groups in East Sussex, and is focussed in the Havens, Seaford and Lewes District areas. But wherever you’re based, we warmly welcome you to take a look around – we’re sure you’ll find something useful.

The project is led by GIA (Gardening In Action) CIC and made possible thanks to the Sussex Community Development Association’s Making It Happen Programme. The Toolkit is created in partnership with SCDA, the Grow Cook Eat Network, 3VA, Greenhavens Network and many community groups and other organisations too numerous to mention here. Our aim is to share and celebrate best practice in East Sussex, so that we can learn and grow together.

How can I get in touch or find out more?

If you’d like to join our mailing list, please just complete the form below. We’ll send out regular updates on events and new content. If you have a question or comment, or would like to contribute to the Toolkit, we’d love to hear from you! Unfortunately we can’t give 1:1 advice or support but we do read all emails!
